| | | I buy a world music mag called Top OF THE World and each issue has a compilation cd.i lsten to these alot.Consolidated an american band have some great stuff like "THE POLITICS OF MEAT".Anyone know them? |

| | Birdy, i don't have that album but i have some friends that play in a band and they are big killing joke fans and go to lots of their gigs so play some of their stuff themselves. That's how i got to know about them.
I don't know all their stuff but out of what i do, my fave is Pssyche. I also really like Change, Requiem and Eighties.
Adam, Youtube is brilliant. I've been using it alot lately. A good friend of mine got me into it. It's great, you start off with one track or artist and then wander from link to link taking you to all sorts of stuff. I was listening to Joe Jackson and Hall & Oates last night, the night before U2, The Jam, plus others. Tonight gone back to Killing Joke cos of Birdy's post. Bit of a contrast, but that's what makes it so great.
I must find the Meatloaf stuff too, now that should be good for a laugh! |

| | | cheers adam. just checked xray spex- germ free adolescence out on youtube and ended up checking out all the golden oldies- skids- into the valley, undertones- teenage kicks and buzzcocks- ever fallen in love with. feel all glowy & nostalgic now. |

| | Hi wolfspirit and Adam, if you like early Killing Joke their newer stuff is better (to my ears), on you tube try "Invocation" and "Walking with Gods", also Gutter Twins "All Misery" is worth a listen, i could go on but i'll save you. I also have "Running Bear" on my favourite list, so it's allsorts for me, love Germ Free Adolescence.
At the moment its "Neon Bible" Arcade Fire, what an album !. |

Hey, we should set up a Youtube thread. We could all suggest songs and try them - and then we can all praise or slate accordingly. There's bound to be some varied opinions on here that's for sure! lol
Could be good fun.
I like a very wide variety of music and it's always good to get pointed towards some new stuff.
I'll send you some info on the gigs, no problem. |
