Yes indeed! You may see one or two little oddities over the next day or two as we're redesigning the site - a look we hope you will all like once it's in place!

All the best,

Simon

yes miffy, when you want to go onto the following page it diverts you back to home site. Aaarggh, teething problems i would imagine, well done Simon for updating the site.

I'd like to echo that, thanks to Simon and anyone else involved for the work on redesigning the site.
May I make a small suggestion? I wonder if anyone else agrees it would be better to be directed to the latest page on a forum such as this when one clicks onto a topic; when there are about 50 pages that we've read before it's good to see the latest update, but I know we can find it quite quickly so maybe I am being a trifle pedantic.
Also an edit facility so we can change what we've posted if we realise after clicking "submit" that we've just sent a load of rubbish, to put it politely! :) (as I no doubt often do)

Aye, there will be teething troubles along the way, but I like to think of them as the odd quirks of happenstance rather than road blocks.

One point about the 'edit' function after posting comments - and the reason we wouldn't introduce that.. if people can retrospectively edit their posts they can change their mind, change the wording, change the context, change the whole meaning of the original post - and all later and prior posts are rendered meaningless. Look at any discussions on any forum and then imagine them if they could be edited... you would add your reply to something only for that, perhaps, to precipitate the person who posted the prior post to amend their post... then people ask why you have said what you have said... not simply a minefield, more a complete shambles.

We'll be tinkering over the weekend, so bear with us and the new look will be fully unveiled next week.

Have a good one,

Simon

The paging system has a bug. If you go into a topic from the "recent discussions" menu on the right, it will take you to the first page but if you then select page 2 you get a message telling you it can't find the discussion. However, if you select 'more' under "recent discussions" that takes you to the main forum page, and if you select the topic there you can go to the other pages fine.

Another problem I've found prior to all the changes which bugs the hell out of me is that sometimes you have to post a message a few times for it to come up. And then bizarrely, some of them start popping up over the next few days...

One thing I would LOVE to see change here (if we are taking suggestions) is if - for example - you have a naughty, attention-seeking Staffie who thinks she should be on your lap instead of your lap top and sort of 'accidentally' presses some buttons and makes the page go back, you don't lose everything you've typed before you've got round to copying it.
