Does anybody else have the problem of soya milk separting/curdling when added to a hot drink, especially coffee?

I know it says on the carton to leave the hot drink a minute or two before adding the soya milk but at work we don't always have time so we've been experimenting.

It seems that soya mlk is really tempermental! We've tried mixing it with rice and oat milk, adding a little cold water to the hot, different amounts of milks ect but it still randomly curdles and although it's ok to drink, it doesn't look very nice!

If anyone has a solution or suggestions we'd be very grateful! Thanks :)

Hi Little Me,

I've had the same problem with coffee although it seems ok in tea.

The only answer I've found is to let the coffee cool down a bit, why not tip a bit out and add some cold water to it to save time.
The other thing I find that helps is to pour it in slowly whilst constantly stirring.

If you find any other solution please let me know.

The only other thing I can suggest is to use oat milk instead. It is very healthy and in my opinion, is the closest in taste to cows milk.

Do you like mocha? I always add drinking chocolate to my coffee and it seems to stop it from curdling. I really like it.

My mum uses So Good for her coffee which she has had no problems with. But it does have quite a distinct taste so it depends on what you like.

Weaker coffee and more soya milk works, it is really annoying when you feel like a strong cup of coffee and all the soya milk sinks to the bottom and will not mix!

Hi little me,

First welcome back haven't heard from you on the forum for sometime hope all is well in health and mind.

Now I'm a great fan of real coffee, love my latte or cappuccino, I always have it extra hot, but I go to St**b*cks or N*r*s who serve it with soya milk (if you ask).......never have I received one which has curled, I've never thought about it or heard about it before, next time I go into one of these fine establishments I'll ask, lets hope someone will find an answer for you.

Once again little me welcome back and don't stay away too long next time (he's a creep).

Demeter is right about So Good, but it's really only So-so good because of the distinctive taste. If you can get used to it, it does work pretty well.

Hi Little Me,

I find that Provamel has less of a tendancy to curdle.

Hi WT

Provamel is a brand of soya milk. According to my vegetarian society magazine they also make schnitzels, nuggets and tofu.

Once you get use to drinking soya milk the benefits are Enormous, it can extend your life,

I agree with the person about Starbucks, they serve good coffee with soya.
