Additional Information

3 things I could not live without:
My animals, my health, my eyesight.
A bit about me...:
I enjoy long walks by the river with my rescue dogs. I have a greyhound/Saluki called Cairo who was an unwanted pet, he came to me at 5 months old in 2013. He was a real handful as a pup and redecorated my hallway with his teeth and paws but has now grown into a lovely gentle lad who still has a pert and playful side. We adopted Izzy the Spanish Podenco in September 2015 and she was in a pitiful state, nervous from neglect and abuse and was sickly. She is full of health now and very cheeky but still wary of strangers. I make most of my dogs food at home including biscuits with high protein vegan foods and supplements. They love it! I had a rescue house rabbit until Xmas 2015 but had to send her the to rainbow bridge as she really struggling at 10 years old, but within a week I ended up fostering and then keeping another rescue rabbit while volunteering for our local animal rescue center. He lives in my spare room and comes out each night and chews my carpets. I used to dabble with the guitar but don't play since I got the dogs as my playing annoys them!
For me the benefits of being vegan/vegetarian are...:
Health (of course) but more importantly, not using animals or 'parts' of them is logical to me. The things we do to other species is beyond evil.
Funniest/worst comment I regularly hear about being a veggie/vegan...:
'But bacon though.....' AND 'So what do you eat then...?' AND 'Come to our barbecue....you can eat the salad'.AND.'What would we do with all of the cows & pigs if everyone went vegan?' AND 'Oh it's awful those Chinese eating those poor dogs....now I'm just off for my dinner, I'm having beef/lamb/pork' (delete as appropriate - but you get the picture?)
I am hoping to meet...:
Another vegan or vegetarian who is thinking of going vegan and needs some pointers! Preferably childfree or with just a couple of kids that have grown and left home.
If I could be any animal for a day, I would be a... because...:
One of my dogs, because I know how much they are loved and they have a great life!
If I won the lottery I would...:
Pay off debts then give as much as I could to animal charities and vegan charities.
My favourite vegan / vegetarian meal is?:
Salad with hemp oil and vinegar dressing, home made vegan carob sponge cake.
My favourite vegan / vegetarian restaurant is?:
The alley café in Nottingham., although don't go out to eat often as I prefer to eat at home.
My guests (living or dead, actual people or fictional characters) to the ultimate dinner party would include...:
Since I don't like crowds very much, probably just a couple of close friends and my dogs, although dead people are allowed I think inviting my late Mum and my German shepherd would be too painful because I'd have to say goodbye all over again.....:(
My ideal date would be (e.g. candlelit dinner):
A nice ramble through somewhere beautiful with the dogs like a forest away from traffic and with very few people.
My ideal vacation would be:
A walking holiday with the dogs.
